Tila was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by helping others. As a supervising EMT, she dedicated her career to serving her community during moments of crisis and need. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to raise her children while also opening her heart and home to neighborhood children who needed guidance, support, and encouragement. She understood that every child deserves to feel valued, safe, and capable of success.

Following her retirement, Tila continued her life of service by working with children with special needs. She believed deeply in the potential of every child and approached each individual with patience, dignity, and respect. Her ability to connect with others and advocate for those who needed support left a lasting impact on countless families.

In May 2025, Tila passed away after a long battle with small cell cancer. Throughout her journey, she demonstrated extraordinary courage, grace, and resilience. She rarely complained and continued to inspire those around her through her strength, faith, and commitment to living each day with purpose.

Tila Promise Pediatric Health was founded by Amari Major and Ronte Johnson to carry forward the values that Tila exemplified throughout her life. Her legacy serves as the foundation of our organization and guides every decision we make.

We believe that quality healthcare is about more than services-it is about relationships, trust, advocacy, and empowering families. Every child we serve is treated with the same compassion, patience, and belief in their potential that Tila demonstrated throughout her life.

Today, Tila's legacy lives on through every milestone achieved, every family supported, and every child who gains the skills and confidence needed to thrive.
